Rosemarie Savino

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 18, 1940, to Fiore and Jennie Perrone Nova and was a resident of Hobe Sound, Florida. Rosemarie is survived by her oldest brother, Lou Nova. Predeceased by her younger siblings, twins JoAnn Nova (Feb. 2024) and Michael Nova (Feb. 2018), Rosemarie and Lou secured their bond by becoming neighbors in Hobe Sound.

In 1965, Rosemarie married Mike Savino and went on to celebrate more than 61 years together. For forty plus years Rosemarie managed a home in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn with two daughters, Rorie (married to Scott) and Jennifer (married to Tom). Her backyard flourished with garden vegetables and a stalwart fig tree. Along with Mike, Rosemarie enjoyed years of international travel, opera, music, entertaining for special occasions and their grandchildren together.

Rosemarie adored her three grandchildren; Stephanie, Adam and Caroline. She and Mike spent many weekends taking the kids to museums and beaches and restaurants, so much so that each has an affinity for Brooklyn.

Sometime in the 1980s, Rosemarie returned to full-time work outside the home at a local bank. She ultimately ended up building a business as a certified financial planner with an office in the same neighborhood where she lived.

Rosemarie was proud of her Italian-American upbringing in Brooklyn, NY. She attended public schools throughout and graduated from Bay Ridge High in 1958. Years later when her grandchildren would sing songs they learned in school, Rosemarie would join in each time crediting her repertoire with Brooklyn’s public schools. Brooklyn ran its course, Rosemarie and Mike moved to Florida; first in Jupiter and then to Hobe Sound in 2016 to her prized home and their cherished community. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the women’s club, delivering birthday cards, playing bridge, at the pool and most recently lobbing bocce balls as a team sport.

Her absence is palpable.
