

Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend whose grace, love, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Kay was born on February 13, 1937 in Leonardtown, Maryland to Roscoe Lee and Ruth Alice Strickland. She married Ted Rado on June 27, 1959 and for 70 years together they built a life filled with love and adventure.
Kay graduated from the University of Maryland, pursued a vocation in Elementary Education, and dedicated herself to her career and raising her family.
Kay lived a life of educational excellence and led by example. During her career, Kay achieved 2 master’s degrees: Reading Specialist in Early Education and Education Technology.
After 30 years as a dedicated teacher, the number of students’ minds and hearts touched by her is immeasurable. In 2007 Kay retired to Stuart.
She was an avid reader, scrapbooker, and crafter. During this time, Kay’s studio at home was her creative oasis.
She expressed her love for her family and friends through this creative outlet.
She left behind many beautiful and imaginative scrapbook albums and greeting cards, with her family as her favorite subject.
Her legacy of creativity, hard work and love will live on in the hearts of those who loved her so deeply.
Kay is survived by her husband, Ted Rado, two daughters, Melanie Khoury and Emily DiBona, and son-in-law Jason DiBona. She has six grandchildren, Ellen, Katherine, Hannah, Lexi, Julia and Xander.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael James Rado.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in her hometown of California, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
