Shirley Van Heintz

Shirley was born on August 28, 1945, in West Helena, Arkansas, to Elleba Latting Johnson and Boyd Sanford Johnson. Arkansas always held a special place in her heart, and she never lost her love for the place she called home.

Shirley was one of seven children, growing up with five brothers and one sister. She leaves behind her brother, Tommy; her partner, Tom; her children, Ronnie, Rhonda, LaDonna, and Toi and her son-in-law Cory; her grandchildren, Skylar, Rachel, Shannon, Shane, Kadyn and Gage; and her great-grandchildren, Avery, Jacob and Gaebriol. She was also reunited in heaven with her grandson, Daemion. Although she was never much of a dog person, Gracie, her tiny five-pound yorkie, somehow managed to win her over and capture her heart. She also shared many meaningful friendships throughout her life and will be lovingly remembered by the friends and family who were fortunate enough to know her.

Shirley was strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and would do absolutely anything for the people she loved. She was deeply caring and was known for being the very best secret keeper. Her unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

She loved roses, and those closest to her will always remember her distinctive rose perfume—a scent that will forever bring back memories of her. That familiar fragrance, along with the sound of her favorite country songs, will bring to mind Shirley dancing in her favorite cowboy boots with a beautiful smile on her face.

Shirley often reminded her daughter, Toi, and granddaughter, Kadyn, that they came from a long line of mountain movers. To Shirley, those words represented the strength of the women in their family, and she was certainly one of the strongest among them. Her spirit will continue to live on through the generations that follow.

Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, friendship, and memories that her family and friends will carry with them forever.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those whose lives she touched
