

He was born in Yonkers, New York and had previously lived in Tarrytown, New York before retiring to Hobe Sound, Florida in 1991. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Steve served in the United States Navy and was later appointed as a U.S. Sky Marshal. He was subsequently employed as a police officer in the Town of New Castle, New York where he quickly ascended to become the Chief of Police. Following his retirement from the Police Department in 1991, he eventually attained the position as Chief of Security for Jupiter Hills, HOA where he worked until 2011.
Steve is survived by his adoring wife of 47 years, Rose Marie (Harla) Fuchila; daughter, Jeanne Marie Loewengart (Andrew) of Brookfield, CT; daughter, Joan Marie Aaron (Dan) of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren, Brooke, Drew, Benjamin, Marc and Lance; and sister, Pauline Sachar (Jerry) of Yonkers, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephan Fuchila and Anna (Fedorko) Fuchila.
Steve was a humble man, most generous of spirit and love. He embraced the beauty in life and enjoyed extended cruises and traveling to tropical locations, particularly Maui, where he frequently vacationed. As a true Disney connoisseur, his focus was family and quality time spent together. Above all things, Steve was a doting grandfather and he cherished his five grandchildren who were collectively, the greatest joy in his life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 5:00-7:00PM at Aycock Funeral Home Young and Prill Chapel in Stuart, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, Florida.
