Susan Anne Ferrer, 80, of Stuart, Florida passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family and supported by her extended circle of close friends. Susan was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved by everyone who met her because of her ready smile and infectious laugh.
Susan was born in Yonkers, New York on November 12, 1945. Susan was the youngest child of Dorothy and Alan Kridel. She and her older brother Dennis grew up in New Rochelle, New York before moving to Rye New York. Susan attended Ursuline and graduated from Resurrection High School. After graduating from high school, Susan received an associate degree in advertising from Endicott College and worked in New York City for NBC and Ogilvy and Mather Advertising Agency.
On May 24, 1969 Susan married Francis (Skip) Ferrer at Resurrection Church in Rye, New York. Susan and Skip moved to Miami Shores Florida to start a family in 1971. They raised four children: Christopher, Betsy, Kevin, and Amy. All of the children attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and the Ferrers were active parishioners in the wonderful and tight-knit community. In 1992 the Ferrer family moved to Boca Raton and Susan began working at the Disney Store cheerfully greeting guests and fully embracing her lifelong love of all things Disney.
After their children had grown, in 2000, Susan and Skip moved to Stuart. Susan was a founding member of “Chicks with Sticks” women’s golf group at Miles Grant Country Club. Susan and Skip have enjoyed playing golf, trivia nights, walks on the beach, trips to Disney World, and visits from their grandchildren. Susan deeply loved life and instilled a love of Disney, Broadway musicals, adventure, and animals to all four of her children.
In 2011 Susan was initially diagnosed with mild dementia, which eventually progressed to her inability to function. She was cared for in her home by Skip until she moved to a memory care facility, the Cabana in February 2026. In these difficult last months, Susan was surrounded by her loving husband Skip, her children, and devoted caregivers. We are deeply grateful for the loving care she received from the staff at the Cabana and Hospice who ensured that she passed peacefully.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Alan and her brother Dennis. She is survived by her husband Skip, her children Christopher, Betsy (Zack), Kevin, and Amy and her grandchildren - Terra, Michael, Colin, Rory, Beatrice, and Fredrick.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 18 at 11am at St. Christopher’s Church, Hobe Sound followed by a reception at Young and Prill Chapel 6801 SE Federal Highway in Stuart.
