Born in Queens, New York, Thomas was a police officer for 20 years with the NYPD. He also served in the United States Air Force form 1958-1962.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Susan Mayer; son, Robert (Josephine) Mayer; grandchildren, Michelle and Robert Mayer; great grandchild, Ryan and brothers, Randy and Gene Mayer.
He was predeceased by his wife.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart Florida.
