Mitchell, William F., 76, of Hobe Sound, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2018, at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Stuart.
He was born December 11, 1942, in Mt. Holly, NJ, and raised in Hainesport, NJ, the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Thomas) Mitchell. He attended Rancocas High School, Hainesport, NJ. William served in the Navy aboard the WSS Wasp CVS-18 as an aircraft electrician.
While living in NJ, he was employed by Inductotherm Corp. In 1974 he relocated his family to Stuart, Florida.
William and his wife Carol were local business owners for over 30 years. Together they established B'Lovley hair salon, B&A Flooring and Mitchell's Flooring.
He was a life-time member and past Commander of the AMVETS Post 14 of Hobe Sound.
William was the loving husband of Carol (Robertson) Mitchell for 39 years, before she passed in 2006, He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Ron (Karen) Bennett and Mrs. Boyd (Sharon) Brooks; grandchildren, Morgan Bennett, Ronald Matthew Bennett, Lauren Brooks and William Brooks. Siblings; Stanley Mitchell of Ohio and John Mitchell of NJ; Maryann Tyner of SC and Monica Evans of NJ; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner of 12 years, Linda Maston.
Burial will be at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 10:30 am, with full military honors.
