

Betty Ann (Chandler) Richardson, 64, wife of Freddie Richardson, of 116 Guthrie Road, Stuarts Draft, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 7, 1951 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Lyle A. and Florine V. (Campbell) Chandler.
Betty was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. She was a loving wife for 34 years, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend. Betty cherished her time spent with her large and loving family.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Richardson Surratt and husband, Thomas; son, Derek Michael Richardson and wife, Crystal; five grandchildren, Jessi Sheaves, Kaiti Sheaves, Natasha Richardson, Kayla Richardson, and T.J. Richardson; four brothers, William Lee Chandler and wife, Pam, Gerry Wayne Chandler and wife, Shelley, Mark Lynn Chandler, and Ronnie Jay Chandler; a sister, Connie Fay (Chandler) Lotts, and husband, Barry. Betty is also survived by five nieces, Morgan Lotts, Kelly Chandler, Jennifer Snyder, Danielle Bottenfield, and Laurie Adams; three nephews, Colten Lotts, Jeremy Chandler, and Chance Chandler; a special great nephew, Carson Alexander Lotts; a special aunt and Betty’s sidekick, Mae Mae, and her husband, Albert Conner; her uncle, Glennie Campbell and wife, Helen of Staunton and her aunt Fern Chandler of Aiken, South Carolina. Betty also leaves behind her beloved four legged friend, Finn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 124 Ridgeview Drive, Stuarts Draft with Pastor Don McClure officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Sizemore, Charley Douglass, Russell Kern, Chester Riley, Gary Gregory and Larry Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty’s grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially Betty’s caregiver, Sherry Cook, and Freddie’s coworkers at F.R. Drake for all the loving care and support given to Betty and her family.
