Billy Henkel

Born July 7, 1948 in Staunton, he was the son of the late Marion Henkel and Kathleen (Wright) Henkel Caples. On March 18, 1967 he married the love of his life Joyce (Fretwell) Henkel. The two shared a blessed union of 46 years together.

Mr. Henkel was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a faithful employee of NIBCO and worked in the maintenance department for 33 years until he retired. Billy was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association of America. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandson, Michael. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working and hunting.

In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his daughter, Kimberley (Henkel) Zimmerman and husband, Blaine; grandson, Michael Henkel; siblings, Wayne Henkel and wife, Joy, Mary Sue Clark and JoAnn Gardella and husband, Lucky; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church, with Pastor Doug Paysour and Pastor Sarah Locke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be provided at the time by the American Legion Post #340.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Robbie Henkel, Wayne Paxton, Byron Ayers, Robert Plecker, Winston Campbell, Ricky Lowery and John Buchanan.
