Caroline Montgomery

Caroline Bower Montgomery, 78, of Fairfield passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at her home. Born September 10, 1941 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Howard and Isabel Constance Harris Bower. Caroline attended Marlbrook Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Bower, Jr. and a sister, Jerilyn Matheny. Survivors include her two sons, Cecil Meredith Cox, II and wife, Deborah and Corey Monte Cox; two brothers, Ted Bower and wife, Mary Joan and Fred Bower and wife, Mary; three grandchildren, Meredith Love and husband, Shaun, Cora Cox, and Ty Cox; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Love; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor John Tilley officiating. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Per her wishes, there will be no formal viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Marlbrook Baptist Church, C/O Missions Program, 6926 N. Lee Hwy, Raphine, VA 24472.
