Born August 22, 1935 in Ivy, Va he was the son of the late Virgil Joseph and Rosa Lola (Stanley) Daughtry.
Conley was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was employed by R.E. Lee Company where he worked as a skilled carpenter for many years. Conley was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably with the Army. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and wood working. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna (Allen) Daughtry; second wife, Doris (McCauley) Daughtry; infant son, Thomas Daughtry; and sister, Delores Toler.
Survivors include his two sons, Greg Daughtry and wife, Sue of Greenville and Kevin Daughtry and wife, Tamara of Waynesboro; stepchildren, Donnie Stinnett and wife, Cathy of Lynchburg and Carolyn Krause and husband, Ralph of Lakewood, FL; grandchildren, Natasha Sundwall and husband, Jason and Frank Dull and wife, Mary; great grandchildren, Kayvan, Rylee, and Mason; sister, Betty Carter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with The Rev. Dr. William Kopp officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Dull, Jason Sundwall, Zach Carter, Caleb Siron, Lynn Allen, Jr. and Jerry Allen.
