Curtis Wayne Barchers

Born January 19, 1983 in Prince Frederick, MD, he was the son of Beverly Sue (Nuckoles) Barchers and the late Charles Russell Barchers.

As an avid outdoorsman, he loved spending time with nature hiking and camping. Curtis enjoyed playing video games, remote controlled cars, and using his drone.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Nuckoles; paternal grandparents, Billy and Louise Barchers; maternal aunt, Debbie Nuckoles; and maternal uncle, Bill Scott Nuckoles.

Survivors include his mother, Beverly Sue Barchers of Waynesboro; two sisters, Christy Ciarametaro and husband, Mike of Kensington, MD and Catherine Cheely and husband, George of Durham, NC; nephew and nieces, Luca and Isabelle Ciarametaro and Anne Charlotte and Amelia Cheely; maternal grandmother, Freda (Coyner) Nuckoles of Stuarts Draft; maternal uncles, Robert Nuckoles and wife, Cindy of Stuarts Draft and Jimmy and wife, Beth Nuckoles of TN; paternal aunts, Donna Briscoe and husband, Tim of Kingsport, TN and Linda Matsushige and husband, Roy of Virginia Beach, VA; trusted friend, Mike Lenoir of Lexington; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1208 New Providence Road, Raphine, VA with Rev. Loren Mitchell officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
