Obituary of Dale Wesley Coffey
Staunton: Dale Wesley Coffey, 58, of Staunton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday August 12, 2012. Mr. Coffey was born on March 15, 1954 in El Paso, Texas and was a son of the late Charles Wesley Coffey and surviving Mother, Ethel (Madison) Coffey O’Donnell. Dale worked for 35 years as a Machine Operator for NIBCO. He started the NIBCO blood drive and was a regular donor for 15 years. He loved hunting, fishing, coaching and playing softball, and playing cornhole with his daughter, family and friends. Dale was a talented wood worker and was a diehard Washington Redskins fan. He was also a lifetime member of the Stuarts Draft Fire Department and was an EMT. Dale was a longtime member of White Hill Church of the Brethren where he served as an usher. Mr. Coffey always put everyone else before himself, and was willing to lend a helping hand. Dale was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him greatly. On September 1, 1973, he married the former Ann Bush who survives. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Coffey is survived by a daughter, Melissa Coffey of Staunton; two special dogs, Zada and Brooklyn; two brothers, Dennis W. Coffey and wife Brenda of Grottoes, Paul Q. Coffey of Staunton; three sisters, Genny Robinson of Waynesboro, Terri McBride of Bunker Hill, WV, Margie Williams and husband Bradley of Waynesboro; two brothers-in-law, John A. Bush and wife Donna of Stuarts Draft, Jim E. Bush and wife Doris of Tennessee; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and many special friends. In addition to his father, Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by a special uncle, Clyde D. Falls Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 18, 2012 at 2 pm at White Hill Church of the Brethren, with Revs. James and David Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Coffey family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm at White Hill Church of the Brethren. Active pall bearers for the funeral service will be Todd Coffey, Tommy Madison, Emmett Campbell, Carol Conner, Keith Watts, Lionel Morris, Floyd Cabell, and Steve Gayhart. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be the employees of NIBCO, members of the Stuarts Draft Fire Department, and extended family and friends.
