

He was born January 28, 1951 in Waynesboro, Virginia to the late Junior H. and Mae Fisher Banks.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate Pamela Via Banks, three loving daughters and their husbands; Dana and Justin Banks and their children Cole Henry, Nolan Henry, Olivia Banks, Sterling Banks and Ryan Olson of Manassas; Nikki and Brian Lacey and their son Hunter Lacey of Nokesville; Rachel A. Banks and son Kayden Banks; step-daughter, Courtney Rannells of Lynchburg.
He is also survived by brothers Wayne S. Banks and wife Joan of Warsaw, North Carolina, Garry Banks and wife Cindy of Waynesboro, sisters Debbie Terry and husband Roy of Charlottesville, Tina Burnett and husband Scotty of Waynesboro, six step-children; Amy and Greg Brown, Terri and Matt Nichols of Waynesboro, Chassity and Todd Young of Sherman, Maine, Josh and Courtney Brown, Simon and Liz Brown all of Waynesboro, eighteen step-grandchildren, two step great grandsons, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.
He had such a big loving heart that he had room to love them all.
He very proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Division, for which he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was a member of Midway Bible Church in Culpeper until moving to the Greenville area in 2011 where he attended Faith Baptist Church in Staunton.
He retired from Lowe’s after 26 years of service as warehouse manager.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Pastor Eric Brown. Burial will follow in Glenn Kirk Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military rites by American Legion, Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Justin Banks, Brian Lacey, Josh Brown, Simon Brown, Matt Nichols, Greg Brown, Robert Fisher and Kyle Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home and other times at the residence of 3453 Cold Springs Road Greenville, VA.
