He was born April 13, 1932 in Pennsylvania, a son of the late Sheldon Bruce and Marie Keck (Hoffert) Wenner.
David was owner of Central Virginia Lawn and Garden Equipment Co. in Fishersville and Charlottesville prior to retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 340 in Waynesboro and VFW Post 9339 in Fishersville.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; son, Andrew and wife Jan of Stuarts Draft; daughter, Cindy Thornton and husband Rick; three grandchildren, LeAnne Harlow, Matthew Thornton, Amy Thornton, and a great-granddaughter, Harley Hevener.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Bruce Swartz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Rick Thornton, Matthew Thornton, Travis Harlow, Matt Liming, Mark Tyree and Steve Cash.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
