Donna Jean Swink

Born February 29, 1952 in Connellsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Merle P. and Mary (Adams) Sanner. On June 30, 1972 she married Paul E. Swink. The two shared 51 wonderful years of marriage.

Donna was a member of Finley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Stuarts Draft. She worked as an LPN for many years at Waynesboro Community Hospital and later graduated from Blue Ridge Community College where she earned her degree as a registered nurse. Following graduation, she continued serving the surrounding communities as a RN and after 40 years of service she retired from Augusta Health in 2011. As an asset to the nursing profession, she mentored many nurses through her career. She greatly enjoyed cross-stitching, crafting, vacationing at the beach, spending time at her pool and being outside, cheering on NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, and her dog, Max.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Rutter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Gladys Swink; sister-in-law, Theda Marae Swink; and nephew, Jason Swink.

Survivors include her devoted husband and caregiver, Paul E. Swink of Stuarts Draft; daughter, Amanda Argenbright and husband, Garry, of Churchville; son, Phillip Swink and wife, Tiffany, of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Blake Argenbright, Brandon Argenbright, Keyon Swink, Kailey Parmer, and Emma Parmer; brother-in-law, Jay H. Rutter of South Connellsville, PA; niece, Marybeth Rutter; nephew, David Rutter; great niece and nephew, Tiffany and David; brothers-in-law, Larry Swink and wife, Andrea, of Citrus, FL, Jerry Swink and wife, Karen, of Sarasota, FL, and Mark Swink and wife, Leslie, of Orange Park, FL; nieces, Kristen and Allison; nephew, Eric; special cousin, Janet Tetil of Connellsville, PA; and close work friends, Linda Kite and Marlys Swearengin.

Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Finley Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Finley Drive, Stuarts Draft with the Rev. Dr. Thomas J. Carrico, Jr. officiating.
