Elizabeth Anne Branch

Anne was born on May 19, 1940, in Augusta County, the youngest of seven children born to the late Emmett Melvin and Rosie Campbell Humphries.

Anne graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1957 and from Woodrow Wilson Technical School of Business in 1958. She was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, Va. She retired from American Safety Razor after 38 years of service. She married Robert Branch on July 11, 1964. They were married 57 years before his passing in 2021.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Marvin, David and Berl; and two sisters, Yvonne Sorrells and Doris Buck. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Michele Breckenridge.

She is survived by three stepchildren, Daryl Branch and wife, Donna, of Greenville, Tracy Branch and wife, Lori, of Stuarts Draft, and Abbie Branch Harrell and husband, Ronnie, of Waynesboro; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a dear friend of 50 plus years, Sandy Blythe.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.

Active Pallbearers will be Carl Deacon, Jr., Billy Humphries, Tommy Humphries, David Buchanan, Bobby Sorrells, Jr., Ricky Stogdale, John Tankesley and Hamed Mahmoud.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Henderson, Lavern Beachy, Doug Thompson, Ronnie Cash and Roger Bowling, Jr.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Rob Marsh and his staff for the care provided to Anne through the years, Hospice of the Shenandoah and her caregivers, Blandean Fretwell, Tamara Jarvis, Rose Burkholder and Jennifer Chandler.
