

She was born January 2, 1934 on Tye River, daughter of the late Clarence H. Coffey and Maywood Sorrells Coffey.
Mrs. Phillips was retired from Mortons Frozen Foods after 21 years of service making many friends along the way. After retirement, she passed her time quilting, canning, caring for children in her community and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 58 years, Delbert F. Phillips, one infant son, 6 sisters, Shirley, Velmer, Vivian, Genevieve, Betty, Elaine and 1 brother, Jerry (J.D.).
Survivors include a son, Marvin Phillips and his wife, Lisa of Montebello; a daughter, Karen Fitzgerald and her husband Larry of Stuarts Draft; 2 sisters, Vera Falls of Montebello, Josephine Carr and husband Randolph of Stuarts Draft and 1 brother, William H. Coffey and wife Kitty of Stuarts Draft; She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Natasha Bryant (Douglas) of Montebello, Crystal Roberts (Gregory) of Stuarts Draft, Cristina Ponton (Robert) of Montebello, Kelly Branch (Shawn) of Montebello, Timothy Fitzgerald (Samantha)of Lexington, Julie Phillips (Daniel) of Montebello, Angela Henkel (Justin) of Stuarts Draft and Chad Fitzgerald. Also leaving behind 10 great-grandchildren which she loved with all of her being, Tyler and Robbie, Bryant, Trevor and Austin Roberts, Hailey, Logan and Macie Branch, Bailee and Parker Fitzgerald and Jason Ponton. Special friends left behind include Richard Christi, Gwen Pell, Scott and Martha Frost and well as numerous others.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Stuarts Draft and other times at Georgie’s home in Montibello.
A service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Pastor Billy Coffey and Pastor Fred Solmons. Burial will follow at Haynes Chapel Cemetery at Montebello.
Active pallbearers will be Hank Carr, Timothy Fitzgerald, Buck Fitzgerald, Jerry Bryant, Patrick Thompson, and Douglas Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.
