
Born November 1, 1946 at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC he was a son of the late Lewis Morton and Blanche (Jones) Clemmer.
Gerald attended high school in Arlington, Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a U.S. veteran. Following his military service, he built a career in the printing industry, working for several printing companies throughout Northern Virginia before later serving part-time as a mail clerk. An accomplished pressman, Gerald was highly respected for his skill and dedication and was always in demand. Gerald's greatest accomplishment was maintaining 50 years of sobriety. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, caring brother, and cherished friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Carter of Kingsport, TN; and special aunt, Delia Mitchell of Lewes, DE.
Survivors include his wife, Dreama Anderson Clemmer of Stuarts Draft; his only child and beloved daughter, Denise Maddox and husband, Mike of Stafford, VA; five grandchildren, Ashleigh, Michael, Austyn, Tanner and Cali; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Mike Clemmer and his partner, Wendell of Lewes, DE; nieces, Bethany and Jenny; nephews, Michael, Jr. and Jeffrey; special friends, Bob and Martha Davis and Sue Von Dohlen; and his two loving cats, Jimmy and Laci.
Following cremation, there will be no formal services.
