Jonah Preston Jones

Jonah Preston Jones, 16, of Lyndhurst, passed away on July 17, 2013 at his residence.

Jonah was born on August 14, 1996 in Lyndhurst, and was a son of Heather and Jason Pace. He was a student and attended Greenmonte Fellowship. Jonah was an avid outdoorsmen and loved hunting and fishing. He was also very talented working with his hands, he loved to cook, and was a great big brother. Jonah was a gifted athlete and a very skilled bible quizzer.

Jonah is survived by his father, Shawn Jones of Lynchburg; his mother, Heather (Burkholder) Pace and husband Jason; three brothers, Josiah Pace, Isaiah Pace, Uriah Pace; three sisters, Adayah Pace, Shannah Pace, Kiersten Jones Summers; Maternal Great-grandparents, John Nederfield, Merlin Burkholder; paternal great-grandmother, Louise Crummett; maternal grandmother, Robin Burkholder; paternal grandparents Daniel and Cynthia Sweet, and Jan Jones; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10 AM at Church on the Hill in Fishersville, with Pastors Bruce and Seth Hankee officiating. Burial will follow at Springdale Mennonite Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 630 p.m. until 830 p.m. at the Church on the Hill in Fishersville.

Active pallbearers for the service will be Grant Burkholder, Shawn Burkholder, Stacey Burkholder, Marty Miller, Bryan Hupman, Ashby Jones, Steve Rogers and Chris Reeves.
