Louie Leonard Liptrap, 93, of Stuarts Draft passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Augusta Health.
He was born August 25, 1924, a son of the late John Merritt and Sadie Mae (Bauserman) Liptrap.
Louie was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from NIBCO where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. Louie attended Mountain Top Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Louie Liptrap, Jr.; daughter, Mazie Hunter; brother; three sisters and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mildred (Brill) Liptrap; sons, Merritt Liptrap, Roxy Liptrap and wife, Jane, Kenneth Liptrap and wife, Pat, Jonathan Liptrap and wife, Donna, Cecil Liptrap and wife, Freda, James Liptrap and wife, Tonya, Matthew Liptrap and wife, Una; daughters, Sheri McGhee, Martha Liptrap Bunch, Dianne Wiseman and husband, Mitchell, Doris Lester and husband, Joey; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Eddie Deane and family. Burial will follow in Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Deane, Ricky Lowery, Charlie Smith, Brian Bergey, Warren Lam and Stephan Nagy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Louie’s caregivers, Mary Louise Reynolds and Michelle Jones.
