Lyndel Bell (Holbert) Loan

Born April 15, 1939 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Coleman and Kate (Chittum) Holbert.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Wilson Loan; two brothers, Kenneth and Ralph Holbert; son-in-law, David Hatter; one niece; and two nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

As an avid outdoorsman, she loved to go hunting, fishing, gardening, and partaking in the craft of woodworking. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach. Lyndel was a talented musician who played the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. Her greatest love in life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They were her world, and she was a proud grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Frances Carter and husband, Rusty, Janet Griffin, Daniel Loan and wife, Penny, Leland David Loan and wife, Michelle, Douglas W. Loan and wife, Emily, and Donnie Loan; grandchildren, Shelby Loan, Luke Griffin, Kate Wimer (Tim), Mark Griffin, Sarah Reynolds (Clint), Isiah Griffin (Hayleigh Nelson), Melody Carter, David “Davo” Loan, Hunter Hatter (Melanie), Hailey Powell, Leslie Marvin, Matthew Agnor, Chad Agnor, Heather Agnor and Stephanie Griffin, ; great-grandchildren, Trinity, Kimber, Olivia, Logan, Lucius, Sawyer, Jailyn, Aviana, Aalaynna, Reyna, Jace, Davy, Jackson, and Tylee; sisters-in-law, Mildred Loan and Alta Jane Liptrap and husband, Roxy; special friends, Anne and Larry Bail, Marie Liller, Rose and Frankie Tolley, and Michele Powell; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft. The casket will remain closed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Loan, Leland David Loan, Rusty Carter, Tim Wimer, Hunter Hatter, and Buck Loan. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Loan, Donnie Loan, Luke Griffin, Mark Griffin, Isiah Griffin, David “Davo” Loan, and Harry McGuire.
