Michelle Torres Frontera Hoskinson, 59, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on April 13,2025 with her devoted husband by her bedside.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and raised in Yauco, Michele later moved with her family to San Juan so she could attend Colegio San Gabriel, the only school in Puerto Rico for the hearing impaired. At the age of 13, she enrolled in the Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C., where she graduated with her high school diploma in 1983. She continued her education in community college and built a diverse career that reflected her versatility and heart-working in education, the U.S. Postal Service, and various retail settings.
Michelle was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Myrtha Torres Frontera. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Hoskinson; her father, Enrique Frontera; her sister, Lori Blasini; and her brother, Enrique “Kiki” Frontera.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her two boys, Ian Hale (wife Jessie) and Zack Hoskinson (wife Miranda), and her greatest joys-her grandchildren: Maverick, Buxton, Lager and Gunner.
A woman of many talents and endless heart, Michelle found joy in painting, reading her Bible, sharing laughter and quality time with her sons and grandsons, and riding motorcycles with her husband. She has a unique gift for teaching sign language and shared it freely, bridging gaps and building bonds-especially when the deaf community she cherished so dearly.
Michelle was a devoted member of Destiny Family Center in Stuarts Draft, where her kindness and joyful spirit touched countless lives. To know Michelle was to be seen, heard and deeply loved. Her faith and legacy will continue to shine brightly through everyone she impacted.
A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held at Destiny Family Center in Stuarts Draft, Va. on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A live stream will be provided and shared with friends and family who cannot attend. Following the service, all are welcome to join in a memorial motorcycle ride in her honor.
