Montgomery Clinton “Monty” Conner, 58, of Raphine, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Lexington, VA on May 18, 1960, a son of the late Donald Elvin and Martha Elizabeth (Brooks) Conner. Monty worked as a packer with Target Distribution. He was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church. Participating as a Civil War reenactor, fishing, and spending time with his family were a few of his favorite hobbies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Clark. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara Jean (Johnson) Conner; step-mother, Lorie Conner; step-daughters, Jill Harvey and husband, Jamie, and JoAnn Garcia; siblings, James Conner and wife, Cindy, Clinton Conner, and Lisha Johnson and husband, Stephen; step-brother, Preston Swecker; grandchildren, Joshua Caban, Andrew Harvey and wife, Candace, Samantha Harvey, Mickey Garcia, III, and Zachary Garcia; great-grandchildren, Josophine and Jessica Harvey; niece, Rachel Johnson; nephews, Damon Humphries and wife, Jessica, Shawn Humphries and wife, Jeanie, Patrick Johnson, Conner Johnson, and J. R. Conner and wife, Shannon; as well as numerous great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends. Monty also leaves behind his four legged friend, Princess. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Don Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister, Lisha Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Monty’s memory to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502 and /or the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services, 1001 Mt Torrey Rd, Lyndhurst, VA 22952.

Monty was a very kind person and I was saddened to hear of his passing. I worked with him as a packer at Target and I know he will be tremendously missed! My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends. I hope that you all find strength and peace.
