
She was born August 16, 1930 in Saltville, a daughter of the late Wyndam R. and Elizabeth Helton Roberts.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and Widowed Spouses Group. She also sang in the church choir. She was employed by the United Methodist Church as secretary for the Staunton District Superintendent.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Lambert, Sr.; sisters, Edna, Edith, Katherine, Edith, Maizie and Earnestine (Teenie); brothers, James, Charles, Ted, and Eugene (Beanie) Roberts.
Survivors include her son, John G. Lambert, Jr., and wife, Alison of Fredericksburg; grandson, Christopher R. Gau of Newport News; granddaughter, Anna M. Lambert of Fredericksburg.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2015 at Calvary United Methodist Church by her son, John G. Lambert, Jr., and the Rev. Charles Reynolds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Taylor, Sam Robb, Donald Snead, Ronald Johnson, Gene Weller and Christopher Gau.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lambert Sunday School Class and the Early Bird Choir.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
