Robert John Harvey

Born July 2, 1936 in Chicago, IL he was a son of the late John and Josephine (Mikolasek) Harvey. On August 23, 1958 he married Ann Clements. The two shared 67 wonderful years together.

When Robert moved to Virginia, he was first employed by the Lexington Gazette where he worked as a printer. Following his employment at the Lexington Gazette, Robert worked as a dental technician for Webb Dental in Waynesboro for 20 years. After his time at Webb Dental, he spent several years at the Farm Bureau in Fairfield, VA, where he worked as a salesclerk. No matter the job, Robert approached every task with a sense of dedication, hard work, and determination. He was a faithful member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church for 56 years. Robert had many passions that he enjoyed throughout his life. He found peace and satisfaction in tending to his vegetable garden, creating handcrafted pieces in his woodworking shop, and spending time in his home with family. Above all, Robert was a devoted husband to his wife Ann, a loving father to his children and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to his growing family. He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always eager to share his love and wisdom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ann (Clements) Harvey of Stuarts draft; six children, Carole Ritchie of Bridgewater, Jan Humes of Bridgewater, Sharon Griffin and husband, Ralph of Augusta County, Wayne Harvey and wife, Sherry of Augusta County, Joanne Coffey and husband, Billy of Augusta County, and Kevin Harvey and wife, Jeane of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Heather Dolph ( Kyle), Chris Ritchie (Katie), JR Humes (Jenny) Jason Griffin (Amy), Brian Griffin (Tabitha), Wayne Harvey (Lindsay), Shannon Dechant (Joel), Michael Harvey (Jamie), Molly Coffey, Will Coffey, Anna Harvey, Grace Harvey, Kara Harvey, and Luke Harvey; great-grandchildren, Collin Ritchie, Addison Ritchie, Jamie Humes, Billy Humes, Riley Griffin, Kenzie Campbell, Zander Griffin, Maddison Griffin, Austin Griffin, Carson Griffin, AvaGrace Griffin, Connor Harvey, Bradyn Harvey, Emma Harvey, Brynna McCall, Aubree Harvey, Jase Harvey, Liam Dechant, Nora Dechant, Dottie Harvey, and Maggie Harvey; siblings, Josephine Gama-lobo of Chicago, IL, John Harvey and wife, Pat of Allen, TX, Tom Harvey and wife, Donna of Gridley, IL, and Shirley Moody of IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church, 2517 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church with his son-in-law, Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
