Rosie June Tidd

Born June 17, 1933 in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Warner and Cora Alice (Grimm) Bowen.

Rosie took great pride in being a loving wife and devoted mother. She tenderly cared for and raised six children, and later helped with the upbringing of 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed preparing and hosting her family’s holiday parties and cookouts, making sure no one ever left hungry. Rosie made the best canned tomato juice, homemade cakes, applesauce, bread and macaroni and cheese. In previous years, she could be found watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy alongside her husband, going camping, and working on word searches and crossword puzzles. Those who knew and loved her best will remember her as a strong, selfless and loving woman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Tidd; son, Ronnie Tidd; daughter, Lorane Patterson; and great-grandson, Kody Tidd.

Survivors include her children, Wayne Tidd and wife, Chun, of Newport News, VA, Thomas Tidd of Stuarts Draft and Alvin Tidd and wife, Leigh Ann of Stuarts Draft, and Lisa Benson and husband, Robbie, of Vesuvius; grandchildren, Jason Tidd (Ramona), Danny Tidd, Theresa Tidd, Victor Tidd, Becky Tidd, Guy Patterson (Tabitha), Rosa and Christopher Norman, Jeremy Tidd (Megan), Heather Campbell (Ryan), Sarah Smallman (Eric), AJ Tidd, Jason Benson (Amber); 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Ruth Hensley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the funeral home with Dr. Amilcar Gröschel, Jr., Pastor of the Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be AJ Tidd, Victor Tidd, Guy Patterson, Jason Tidd, Jeremy Tidd, and Ryan Campbell.
