Born October 20, 1945, he was the son of the late George Vernon and Frances I. Cason.
He was a graduate of Riverheads High School and a Vietnam Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Jones.
Survivors include his three brothers, Jim of Middlebrook, Larry Dale of Greenville and Tommy of Fishersville; two sisters, Joyce Rosen of Stuarts Draft and Louise Vecellio of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Sammy’s request, there will be no formal services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
