Shirley Louise Fix

She was born October 20,1946 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Richard and Hallie (Humphries) Mynes.

Shirley was a member of Old Providence Presbyterian Church and retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections after 13 years of service.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Fix, Sr.; one sister, Edith Fisher and two brothers, Tommy and George Mynes.

Survivors include two daughters, Tandy Staton, Terina Fix; son, William ( W.T.) Fix, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Zack, Chance, Ryan, Briana, Adrianna, Nic, Jaxon and ten great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Old Providence Presbyterian Church, 1005 Spottswood Rd., Steeles Tavern with Pastor Patrick Malphrus officiating.

A private family burial was held earlier in the week.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
