Sidney Leroy Barr, 78, of Waynesboro passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Maryland on May 31, 1943, a son of the late Frederick Lewis and Viva Irene (Roe) Barr.

Mr. Barr enjoyed hunting. He retired from Verizon as a heavy equipment mechanic on April 2, 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy (Easton) Barr; three sons, Richard “Rick” Barr, Sidney L. Barr, Jr., and Tigh Barr; two daughters, Cindy Green and Kristina Johnson; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Chaplain Matt Halley officiating.

There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
