Suzanne was born in Warsaw, Poland, to Max and Reizl Bozyk, both actors on the Yiddish stage. Her family’s journey took them from Poland to Buenos Aries and eventually settling in New York, where Suzanne built a beautiful life rooted in creativity and compassion.
After high school, Suzanne attended design school in New York, where she discovered her lifelong passion for sewing. Through her life, she made many friends, some of whom became like family, and she remained close with them for decades, keeping in touch online.
She was a highly skilled seamstress, creating and repairing countless pieces from basic hems and alterations to competitive rollerskating costumes and intricate wedding dresses each stitched with care and artistry. After moving to Virginia, Suzanne opened Jadeco Doll Hospital and Alterations Shop, where she spent many years doing what she loved. Through her work, she built lasting friendships with her clients, continuing to sew for many of them long after she closed her shop.
Known lovingly by her grandchildren as “Bucci,” Suzanne was the heart and soul of her family. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and carried herself with grace, humility, and warmth. She was always sweet and gentle, but she also had a quick wit and a sense of humor that could light up any room. Her funny one-liners were the cherry on top of her beautiful personality.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Armetta, and her sons Peter Armetta and Joseph Armetta. She is survived by her children Daniel Armetta (Coleen), Matthew Armetta (Lisa), and Joan Levin (Alan), her grandson Daniel Armetta, her granddaughter Alexandria Armetta (fiancé Kyle Alger), and her great granddaughter Maddox Alger, who brought endless joy to her life.
In keeping with Suzanne’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, as she never wanted anyone to fuss over her. The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
Suzanne, with the help of her granddaughter wrote a book about her life in 2022. When asked what she wanted her family to remember after she was gone, she wrote:
“I’m so thankful for my family and friends. I would want them to know that I credit them for filling my life with immeasurable love and making it so worthwhile. Alexandria, thank you for honoring me with this book and for Maddox Elizabeth — the sweetest child that was ever created!!!”
Her own words say it best. She lived a life full of love, gratitude, and grace. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be forever missed.
