Terasa "Teddy" Painter

Born July 31, 1947 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Thomas and Cecil (Doyle) Nuckols.

Prior to her retirement, Teddy was employed by NIBCO, where she dedicated many years of service in the payroll department. She was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft. Teddy found great joy in spending time with her family, browsing yard sales and thrift stores, playing solitaire, and caring for her beloved Yorkshire terriers, Muffy and Shelly. She will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and caring aunt whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Edmond Painter.

Survivors include her daughters, Angela (Painter) Clymore and husband, David of Staunton and Lana Painter of Stuarts Draft; son, Wayne “Chip” Painter, Jr. of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren, Ashley Defibaugh, Lauren Rathburn (Wes), Zach Clymore, Lottie Obst (Areian), and Peyton Mays; four great-grandchildren, Bailey Blackwell, Chance Rathburn, Ella Rathburn, and Aurellia Sanders; brother-in-law, Clayton Painter and wife, Kathy; and nephew, Kit Painter.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Scarlet Danraj officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Food Pantry, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.

The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of the Augusta Health Shenandoah Hospice House for their love, care, and support of Teddy and family.
