Theodore Anderson Banks

Born April 27, 1940 in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Donald Remsen and Dorothy (Anderson) Banks.

Ted was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen Central High School and University of Connecticut where he earned an associate’s degree in Animal Husbandry. He was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably with the Navy. While in the Navy he served in Vietnam aboard the USS Independence. For over 30 years, he owned and operated T & T Trucking in Stuarts Draft. His greatest joy was watching his sons and grandsons play football, basketball and baseball. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed cheering on the UConn Huskies basketball program, the Miami Dolphins, and watching Chase Elliot in current NASCAR races. He adored his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Sarah Gaynelle (Lambert) Banks; and sister, Susan Banks.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori Ramsey and husband, Stephen of Wesley Chapel, NC; two sons, Charles (Chuck) Banks of Ruther Glen, VA, and Shane Banks and wife, Andra of Penn Laird, VA; and two grandchildren, Chase and Carter Banks. Additional survivors include, sister-in-law, Becky Young of New Hope, sister-in-law, Georgeann Lambert of Stuarts Draft; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Following cremation, a graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Rev. Dr. John N. Vest officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
