OBITUARY
Ward D. McDonald
December 3, 1941 – September 22, 2017
Ward David McDonald, 75, of Fishersville passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Augusta Health.
Born December 3, 1941 in Elkton, he was the son of the late Lurtie David and Edith (Life) McDonald.
Ward attended Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, Stuarts Draft. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with DuPont where he worked in the Maintenance Department for 38 years. Ward was an avid sports fan, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and listening to political radio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marie McDonald and his sister, Gaye Hume.
Survivors include his children, Sherry Mayo of Fishersville, Norman McDonald and wife, Sharon of Fishersville and Ward H. McDonald of Staunton; grandchildren, Morgan McDonald, Josh McDonald, Kirk Moser, Ashley McDonald, Amanda Collins and Felicia Hearl; a number of great-grandchildren; siblings, Roland D. McDonald and wife, Judy of McGaheysville and Gloria McDonald Meyers and husband, Roger of Harrisonburg; brother-in-law, Bob Hume of Harrisonburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 2348 Tinkling Spring Road, Stuarts Draft with Pastor Charles Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McGaheysville.
Friends and family may view and sign the register book on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ward’s memory to Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 2348 Tinkling Spring Road, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.

I am so sorry to hear about Ward passing. I got to know him when I worked in Benger Lab at the Waynesboro DuPont Plant. He was always so much fun with a grin on his face all the time.

To Ward's Family, We are sorry to hear about Ward's passing and wanted to reach out to say that we are glad we got to know him and his family throughout the years. Ward and Linda were wonderful people from a good, solid family. We regret that we were not able to get to the funeral home yesterday to sign the book. He will be missed.
