Cheryl,

Alan was the person I would go to for travel ideas and restaurant recommendations. I always enjoy hearing about your trips. I was amazed by his excel tracking of all of the restaurants he had been to. Alan was so nice to me. He gave a red pocket when he heard that I got married last year. I still have that red pocket.

I am saddened by Alan's passing. Please let me know if there is anything I could help.

Sincerely,
Suya Xiong

I've worked with Alan for the past 10 years at IDC-he was always so positive & happy to share a fun travel suggestion or even better, food update! His warm and happy smile will be missed by so many of us at IDC. Wishing peace to all of you in his family!

Alan was a brilliant analyst and a kind person. I always enjoyed chatting with him about the market. My thoughts are with the family.

Cheryl,

I'm so sorry and shocked about Alan's passing. It seems like I was just talking to him yesterday. He was a good friend, colleague, boss and mentor to me and I will miss him so much. Peace to you and your family, and please let me know if I can help with anything back in Massachusetts.

With deepest sympathy,

Mike Townsend

I had the great pleasure of working with Alan over the years in support of his research initiatives at IDC. Alan always had a funny story and a warmth that invited conversation. He was a man in a hurry who had a brilliant mind. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.
My sincerest regrets and condolences to his dear wife.

Although I am now at IDC, I met Alan while I was working for SAS Institute 2008-2019 and attending the SAS Analyst Conferences each year. I met Alan around 2009 at the conference and looked forward to seeing him each year afterwards. We participated in group activities together, shared meals and sat together on conference transportation. Alan was a wonderful man, with many entertaining stories about travel and food from every corner of the world. Although our industry focus was different (life science vs. financial services) our personal interests made for great conversations. I am saddened by Alan's passing and will be thinking of your family at this time.
