

Loving husband of Theresa Ann Phillips for 29 years, devoted father to Kaylan Jones and her husband Jason, Thomas Phillips and his wife Emily, and “Gramps” to Miles Jones. David spent his early childhood in Syosset NY, raised by his parents Evelyn and Richard (Dick) Phillips, raised alongside his siblings Christopher Phillips, Leslie Ebert, Stacy Stilwell, and Michael Phillips. The family moved to Westford, MA in 1971 and David attended Westford Academy. He went on to the University of Miami, where he graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1978.
After graduating from college, David worked for remodeling and renovation firms in the Miami area. In the 1980’s David moved back to Massachusetts and worked for several architectural design companies. He spent almost 15 years as an Architect and Estimator at Construction Management and Development Corporation in Wellesley, MA. From 2009 to 2014, David worked for himself from his Sudbury home, providing design and consultation services for residential and commercial projects. Later, he worked for Fallon Custom homes until he retired in 2019. David was known for his impressive artistic abilities, his breadth of knowledge, and his great tastes. Outside of work, David was an outstanding family man. Beloved uncle and brother-in-law of the Phillips and Magennis families. He was full of life, love and generosity. He was a very reliable and handy neighbor always having the right tool for the job. In his free time, he loved working on his own projects, such as collecting coins, making beautiful furniture, and improving his family’s home using his lifelong home-building intuition. He was an avid and competitive golfer, being a former member of Sandy Burr golf club in Wayland, MA where he shot a hole in 1 at #10 in 1994. He frequently visited his parents’ community course at Moss Creek, Hilton Head Island, SC to play with his family. He was an incredibly talented watercolor artist, painting landscapes, houses, and portraits in his free time, especially after his retirement. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at Duckett Waterman Funeral Home, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited.
