Dean S. Yarbrough Jr. of Sudbury died Sunday November 24th, 2013. He was 85 years old and the beloved husband of Maxine (Jackson) Yarbrough. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dean was the son of the late Dean S. Yarbrough Sr. and Mary (Matthews) Yarbrough and brother to the late Robert E. Yarbrough Esq. He attended Boston Latin, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Boston University. Dean served in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked in the defense industry for 11 years and then made a conscious decision to enter the educational field, with the goal of empowering students to become engaged global citizens. He was a teacher, principal, and administrator in the Boston Public School System for 20 years. Throughout his life, he was a civil rights activist, a human rights advocate, and a passionate educator.
Dean was a 55-year resident of Sudbury, Massachusetts. His hobbies included reading, sailing, photography, flying airplanes, automobile restoration, and playing classical and jazz trumpet.
Dean leaves to mourn his wife, Maxine, four children (Dean, Kenneth, David, and Amy), a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, five grandchildren, and host of family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Greater Framingham Community Church, 44 Franklin St, Framingham, MA 01702, on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 6:00 PM.
