THURSTON, Edwin W., 88, of Heritage of Framingham, Wed., Dec. 5, at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center, Natick. Born on Feb. 27, 1924 in Whitman, Edwin was the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Estes) Thurston and the husband of the late Ingrid (Jacobsen), he was the father of Kristine Thurston and her husband, Myles Halsband of Sudbury, grandfather of Benjamin Halsband of Framingham and Elena Halsband of Baltimore, MD, the brother of the late Ralph Thurston and Frances Porter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Edwin graduated from Whitman High School with the class of 1943. He served in the Navy during WWII and received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Performing Arts from Staley College in Boston. He worked for WNSC and WEEZ television and radio in the 1950’s and performed in local theater productions from 1980 to 2007.
Edwin’s funeral will be held at the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd. (Rt. 20), Sudbury, Tues., Dec. 11, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson with military honors will be held on Sun., Dec. 16., at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home will be Mon., Dec. 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
