Elizabeth “Betty” A. Whitcomb, a resident of Sudbury for 60 years, died August 13, 2018, after a period of declining health. She was the loving wife of 63 years of George H. Whitcomb, who predeceased her in 2015. Betty grew up in Marblehead, MA, graduated Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing, and went on to become a surgical nurse for many years before working as a private duty nurse. She loved playing scrabble, cards, and doing jigsaw puzzles, but her main love was spending time with family and friends who will miss her dearly. Besides her husband, Betty was predeceased by a son, George M. Whitcomb. She is survived by four children children: Linda Edinger (Joseph) of Findlay, OH, Diane Weisblatt (Peter Paquin) of Barre, MA, Timothy C. Whitcomb (Ann Marie) of Amherst, NH, and Cheryl A. Whitcomb (Felipe El Karim) of Marlboro, MA. She also leaves 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as a close friend, Timothy Elliott of Marlboro. A visitation will be held Friday, August 24, from 11am-12:30pm, followed by a prayer service at 12:30pm, at the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Route 20, Sudbury, MA. An urn committal will follow at Wadsworth Cemetery, Concord Road, Sudbury.
