Frances M. Sweeney Schlichter

Frances M. Schlichter of Maynard died peacefully on September 5, 2016 from cancer. She was 84 and daughter of the late Francis and Marion (Bader) Sweeney. Fran was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania where she sang with her church choir at the Calvary Moravian Church.

Mrs. Schlichter was a military wife, residing in various parts of the country prior moving to Sudbury where she and her husband raised their daughters. In 1984, she moved to Maynard, MA. Fran was employed at DCU for over 24 years and worked there as an Information Center Fulfillment Specialist until her retirement at the age of 80. She volunteered at the Maynard Bloodmobile, was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and a person who made and kept many friends.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Schlichter-Reiser and her husband, Jack of Sag Harbor, NY; her daughter Barbara Schlichter of Burlington, MA; her grandchildren; Erin Reiser of Sag Harbor, NY, Tim Reiser and his wife, Jordan Reiser, and her great-grandson, Harrison Conrad of Philadelphia, PA, and Dan Reiser and his wife, Annie Reiser of Fitchburg, MA. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Maynard “Jackie” Davis and his wife, Pat Davis of Peoria, Illinois. Mrs. Schlichter was formerly married to the late Ernest Schlichter.

Visiting hours at the Duckett-J.S.Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute will be Monday afternoon from 3:00 to 7:00 o’clock. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13, at 1:00 pm, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury. Pastor Tom O’Brien will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, immediately following the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
