George grew up in New York City, attended Bronx Science High School and CCNY, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He was a proud member of the Pershing Rifles in ROTC and served as a Lieutenant in Korea in the 934th Engineer Aviation Group, known as a SCARWAF. Upon returning from Korea, George joined Turner Construction Company in 1955. He worked at Turner for 39 years, retiring in 1994 as Vice President and General Manager of the Boston Territory.
George was preceded in death by Shirley W., his loving wife of 61 years. George leaves his daughter Jeanne and his brothers Thomas J. of Hanover, PA and Richard H. of Jackson, MI.
A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 22nd, at the Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sudbury United Methodist Church in George’s memory.
