Dearest Mom,

Thank you for a lifetime of unconditional love, razor-sharp wisdom and endless  mirth  and humor.  You have left us with an overflowing treasure chest of  cherished memories and life lessons. I know that we will dip into that special place time and time again as we continue on with our lives on earth.  We love you today, tomorrow, and always, and look forward to the time when we will  be  be united again in heaven with  you and all of our loved ones.

Dear Cousins,

I have the most wonderful memories of Aunt Irene. All the cookouts and pool parties, birthdays with a homemade cake with buttercream frosting, blowing bubbles on the front porch of Antwerp St. (bubbling Irene)  and lots of laughter.  I remember the party when Tommy put Aunt Irene in the wheelbarrow and ran around the house with her and she just laughed the whole time... she loved good times, family and never missed a special occasion.  She made the best Irish Bread and potato salad i ever had, but I could never tell my Dad that because he thought his was the best. I always enjoyed her and my fathers exchanges and stories from their childhood.  They were two characters when together!  

I am so sorry for your loss.  She will continue to be a bright light that will live on in our hearts and memories. She was generous to all her nieces and nephews; we have all benefited from her love and sensible advice.  

I hope your happy memories and her love will sustain you through this very difficult time.  God Bless.

From the moment I first heard Mrs. Davison's voice in the background telling Bobby to "Get off the phone", to the time when immediately upon entering her Perthshire Road house after dining at a Mexican restaurant she spoke from 3 rooms way telling me I had just eaten garlic, I knew that everything about Mrs. Davison was extraordinary, not just her keen senses. Her fine mind was sharp as can be. Excellent at word games (crossword puzzles, Password, Taboo, etc.), quick at her wit, and so perceptive to every detail of design, emotion, mindset, and plan, Mrs. Davison was the one who encouraged me to go to medical school at a time when I was filled with self-doubt. I can never thank her enough for the kind way in which she talked me through that decision process.  I can never forget the innumerable fun games we laughed over, the ample delicious dinners we shared on vacations, holidays, birthdays, special occasions, the many Christmas trees we exchanged gifts around, the songs we song to my guitar at Humarock {especially If I Had a Hammer (!)}, cocktails at sunset in Scituate, cookouts, pool parties, and autumn drives. She welcomed Matt into my life wholeheartedly and we both loved her boundlessly and always will. Every event involving her was heartfelt and special. We always looked forward to seeing her with great joy.

Who was Mrs. Davison? Who was this wonderful, intelligent woman with a polite sense of humor? So what was she really like? She was like everyone else, only more so, much more so, but nobody was like her; nobody comes close. First of all, her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed sharing the good times she had with them with everybody including us. Secondly, her kindness was evident in all she did. I would be remiss if I did not say something about her wisdom. Her command of good old common sense was truly laudable. 

It was a privilege to be with you and to know you. You are a hero to us all.  Your appreciation and your love accompanied all of your children and grandson every step down the road, and their lives and our lives were always shaped by your values. You, who never abandoned anything, are also now not abandoned. You are alive and luminous in our heads. I take comfort in knowing God has simply called you to himself.  We draw strength from His divine plan and guidance, knowing the truth, that we shall see, and share eternity, with our loved ones again in the perfect joy of Heaven. 

Mrs. Davison, we give you our hearts, and we say goodbye to you for now.  We ask you to rest in peace and watch over us. We know Angels are accompanying you now.  We rejoice at the warm welcome you are receiving from all those waiting for you.
