He was the loving and devoted husband of Mary C. Vivaldi with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage. Lou and Mary were active parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sudbury for over 50 years and his faith was very important to him. Lou earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering, but after a few years in the industry, he decided to make a change and took a job in 1960 in the nascent computer industry where he worked for 30 years for Honeywell Information Systems and later for Sequoia before retiring in 1995.
In retirement, Lou enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and volunteering with several organizations including Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Knights of Columbus, Meals on Wheels and The Sudbury Senior Center where he taught computer skills. Cooking was something he had always enjoyed doing for special occasions, focusing on foods from his roots in Northern Italy, but in retirement he took over the role full time at home and continued with it into his 90's.
In addition to his wife Mary, Lou is survived by his loving children Anne Sheehan and her husband Jack of Manasquan, NJ, Joseph Vivaldi and his wife Elisabeth of Needham, MA, and Michael Vivaldi and his wife Mailieha of Peabody, MA and his 5 grandsons.
