March 6, 1956September 21, 2020

Janet Martha Feda, 64, of Sudbury, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, after an illness. Born March 6, 1956 in Wareham, she was the daughter of John and Helen (Benson) Sandblom. Janet was raised and educated in Bedford, MA and graduated from Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing in 1976. She also earned an Associate in Science Degree from Northeastern University in 1993. Mrs. Feda worked as a Registered Nurse at Newton-Wellesley Hospital for 44 years, until her recent retirement.

Janet was a wonderfully kind, generous and loving person, quick with a smile, a kind word and encouragement for anyone in need. Simply, to know Janet was to love her. She devoted her life to caring for others, starting out as a nursing student at Newton-Wellesley hospital and continuing on, first as a nurse in a surgical unit and later in various administrative roles until retirement. Her greatest joys were family and raising her two daughters. She was loving and devoted mother, gently and patiently nurturing them through the all of the joys and challenges of childhood. Janet had several interests, but among her favorites were cooking, quiet walks in the woods, and estate sales.

Beloved wife of Francis M. Feda (33 years married); She is survived by her two daughters Michelle and Jennifer, her sisters Elaine of San Diego, CA and Marcia (Joe) of Boston, and brother Eric (Effie) of Bedford, MA.

Burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland, MA.

I am so sad to hear this news and am heartbroken for Janet's family. I worked with Janet at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Janet was delightful--so easygoing while being incredibly conscientious and thorough in highly complex work.

I will miss her sweet smile and kindness.
