

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jean-Yves Franher Charlot “Jay”, 52, who died on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jay was the beloved husband of Shela D. Charlot. The loving father of Jonathan and Jayson Charlot and the proud grandfather of Emiliana Desire Charlot.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti Jay is the son of Leide Amestanie Dery, and the late Aristide Charlot. He was raised and educated in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he developed his passion for music, electronics, culture, geography, and learning about the world.
In his early years, Jay worked as a teller at Victory Stores. He then worked for many years as a valued field engineer at Omnicell. His dedication and warm personality left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of working with him.
Jay was a vibrant and generous spirit, known for his wonderful sense of humor and his knack for giving everyone a memorable nickname. He loved food, music and dancing Kompa, and his joy for life was infectious to all around him.
A true lover of everything related to technology and team sports in general. Jay’s love for basketball and baseball was unmatched, and he was an avid fan of both the Miami Heat and the Boston Red Sox Teams. He took great pride in his knowledge of geography, impressing everyone with his ability to connect via radio satellite with different countries around the world. He was an eternal optimist with a positive outlook on life, no matter the circumstances.
In addition to his wife, children, grandchild and mother, Jay leaves behind his siters Prosperette Charlot and Rose Ketelaine-Bozile Joseph, his nieces and nephew Barbara Bozile, Steyna Bozile, Elizabeth Joseph, Israel Joseph. His cousins Jeanne Mose Dery, Ismael Dery, Jean Fritz Dery and wive Marie France Dery, Franchette Jaboin, Luckson Dery, Julie Dery, Vigobert Dery, Maggie Dery and many more.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025, at 10:00am at Saint Matthias Parish, 409 Hemenway St. Marlborough MA 01752; a repass will follow immediately after the funeral service at the lower level of the church.
