John D. Aloisio of Ashland, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham following a brief illness. He was 97 and the beloved husband for 74 years of Elena (Arcnangela) Aloisio. Born in Glen Cove, New York on October 15, 1916, he was the son of the late Paolo and Angelina (Caputo) Aloisio.
He served in the United States Army in World War II from 1943 to 1945 with duty in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was decorated with the EMATO Ribbon with 5 Bronze Battle Stars. Retired for many years, he was formerly employed in the shoe manufacturing industry.
In addition to his wife, Elena, he leaves his daughter and son in law, Evelyn and Alan Gordon of Sudbury and two sisters, Evelyn Avitabile and Anna Aloisio of Long Island, New York. Interment with military honors will be held at a later date.
