

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eleni (Mastorakos) Demos of Sudbury; two sons, George Demos of Sudbury, Alex Demos of Marlborough; daughter-in-law, Heather, three grandchildren, John, Eleni and Gregory. His parents, George and Olga (Georgopoulos) Demos, of Kollines, Greece, predeceased him. He is also survived by his brother, Peter Demos and his wife Cynthia of Watertown; his sisters, Angela and her husband Arthur Arvanites of Arlington, Tina Kokoros of Watertown; three brothers-in-law, Demetri Mastorakos and his wife Pauline of Arlington, Anastasios Mastorakos and his wife Dina of Dracut, Zacharia Mastorakos of Florida; sister-in-law, Tula Lambros of Watertown; also many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
John was a long-time restaurant entrepreneur and opened his first restaurant in Boston in 1959 before opening Demos Restaurant in Watertown in 1971.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 6 from 5-8PM at the Duckett – J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road (RT20), Sudbury.
Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury.
