Marjorie (Seifert) Orabona, of Sudbury, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on April 20, 1930, in New Bedford, Marjorie "Marge" was the daughter of the late Doris (Eaglestone) and August Seifert. She was raised in New Bedford and was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
For 62 years, Marge was the loving wife of Joseph Orabona before his passing at the age of 91. Together they built a strong family that continues to grow. She had a deep and profound love for her family, especially as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her home was the heartbeat of her family, and she was happiest when it was filled with her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with wonderful neighbors and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood with her dogs and greeting everyone along the way.
Marge had a long-standing career as an office manager for a cosmetic surgeon at Emerson Hospital in Concord, which she found very fulfilling. Prior to this position, she was a successful bookkeeper and assistant buyer for a clothing boutique in Sudbury. Her friendly and welcoming personality attracted people to her throughout her life.
Marge had a lifelong connection with nature, enjoying local, regional, and international wildlife. One of her favorite adventures was as a volunteer to assist with turtle tagging and egg counting in Costa Rica. She was a long-time member of the National Audubon Society and National Wildlife Federation, and she especially enjoyed feeding and watching the antics of backyard birds and squirrels. Marge had several hobbies and joys involving the natural world, flower arranging, family gatherings, and travel. Some fond family memories are her trips around New England and to Wyoming, Colorado, Alaska, Florida, Virginia, and many of our National Parks.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her siblings Joyce Keith and Donald Seifert, and her stepmother Ethel Seifert.
Marge was the devoted mother to Marcus Orabona of Ormond Beach, FL; Lisa Atwood and her husband Mark of Coventry, CT; Andrea Orabona of Lander, WY; Justin Orabona and his wife Lauren of Manassas, VA; and Lucas Orabona and his wife Charleen of Hudson. She is survived by many cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Jamieson, Jessica, Quinn, Lindsey, Laine, Michael, Emily, David, and Danielle, as well as 12 wonderful great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be held at Duckett Funeral Home, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, on Saturday, June, 6, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Wadsworth Cemetery, 74 Concord Road, Sudbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marge’s memory to the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
