Mary Ann Beagan

Born on August 5, 1945, in Athlone, Ireland, Mary grew up on a farm before immigrating to the United States in 1963. She first settled in Arlington, MA, where she worked at an insurance company and later met her husband, James. Together they raised their three children, living in Everett before moving to Sudbury in 1981, where Mary built a warm and welcoming home.

Mary was a loving mother and grandmother, known for her warmth, strength, and devotion to family and friends. She cherished her gardens, trips to Florida, return visits to Ireland, and, most of all, time spent with her loved ones. Her greatest joy was being “Grammy” to her four grandchildren, who filled her heart and brought out her biggest smiles.

She is survived by her children: Keith Beagan of Wilmington, MA, and his son, Liam Beagan; Kim Beagan of Sudbury, MA; and Jodi (Beagan) MacLeod and her husband, Brian MacLeod, of Sudbury, MA, and their children, Elliana, Dylan, and Tessa MacLeod; her sister, Nuala LeClair of Billerica, MA; her brother, Bernard Kelly of Mashpee, MA; and siblings Michael Kelly, Noel Kelly, Matthew Kelly, and Ann (Kelly) Cunningham of Athlone, Ireland. She was predeceased by her sister, Bridget (Kelly) Mannion, and by her beloved husband, James, in 2008.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Ascension Parish/Our Lady of Fatima church, 160 Concord Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776.
