Born on July 5, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of John S. and Anna (Suder) Branyan. Mary was raised and educated in Harrisburg, PA. Mary began her career as a nurse at Harrisburg Hospital. She had a passion for geriatric nursing and spent many years as Head Administrator of Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA and Director of Nursing at Chapel Hill in Carlisle, PA.
After a full career Mary took her cue upon the birth of her grandson to become a full time Grandma – “Grammie” nannie and moved to Bridgewater, NJ. When Mary’s daughter, Theresa and Son-in-law, Mike were transferred to Sudbury, MA in 2012, Mary also relocated to stay close to her family. In the Sudbury community Mary quickly made friends and enjoyed the Our Lady of Fatima community and various clubs across Sudbury including The Villagers.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Begley; by her first husband, Leonard J. Kuntzweiler; by her daughter, Mary Beth Reside; and by her sister, Barbara Branyan.
Devoted mother of Theresa Kuntzweiler and her husband Michael Jones; cherished Gram of Zachary Jones; loving sister to Kate McNally and her husband Bradley of Timonium, MD, Patricia Collins and her husband William of Mt. Juliet, TN, Christine Cushner and her husband Michael of Mechanicsburg, PA, Bernadette Thompson of Mechanicsburg, PA; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Monday, February 3, at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Rd, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
